
The truth is that we can quit cigarette smoking easily. All we need do is know how to go about it. It is not as difficult as we think it is. Also it is not as difficult as people are making us to believe.
We can liken quitting the use of cigarettes to someone who doesn't know how to drive a car. It becomes totally impossible for such a person to drive a car because he/she does not know how to do it. There is no previous experience or expertise as to what should be done to get the car to start moving. The same thing applies to us.
We only claim that not having to smoke ever again is difficult because we don't know how to do it. This is especially true for those of us who have tried to quit in the past but failed blatantly. Since we don't have the required skills to help us quit, we need to learn them. We need to learn the skills needed to help us do justice to quitting the use of cigarettes.
In order to abandon smoking for good, there are certain basic things that we need to get ourselves acquainted with. We need to first understand that consuming sticks of cigarettes everyday is not a physical disease as many people make us to believe. We don't need to use drugs, pills or whatever to abandon smoking. It is not a physical disease. So we should not treat it as if it were some kind of fever.
If we want to really have complete quit smoking success then it is important that we realize that what we are dealing with is more of a mental addiction than physical. In fact it is a mental addiction.
If we really think about it we will notice that we smoke whenever we decide to do it. And without even thinking about it, we pick up a cigarette and start to smoke. The reason behind this is that out minds are already accustomed to having cigarettes based on triggers. Once we get those triggers, off we go. So the simple truth is that if we want to quit cigarette smoking easily we need to consider these basic things. Basic things like understanding the fact that smoking is a mental addiction and not physical.
